Hotel Alba is a private hotel by the lake and the location is an important differentiating factor for us, which literally brings nature close. The location by the lake allows you to enjoy the natural landscape in all seasons and it is important for us to act sustainably so that the landscape and nature around us are preserved.
Green Key certified hotel since 2021
Green Key is the world’s leading sustainability program and certificate in the tourism industry and Hotel Alba is proudly a Green Key hotel, fulfilling the strict criteria of the certificate.
As a Green Key hotel, it is important for us to promote the environmental awareness of our customers, stakeholders and staff through our operations and to achieve the set environmental goals in our hotel’s daily operations. We take measures to reduce environmental burden by measuring and setting goals in our operations. With these measures, we aim to reduce environmental burden. Read more about Green Key!
Responsible actions
- 100% of the electricity we use is produced with renewable energy sources
- All bed linen and towels in hotel rooms are EcoLabel-marked
- Our A’la Carte menu includes ingredients from local producers and vegan dishes
- Our panoramic restaurant and terrace are accessible
- We take care of waste sorting and recycling and make it possible for our customers as well
- We actively cooperate with local sports clubs and educational institutions
- We strive to reduce our water and energy consumption
- We measure and take measures to reduce food waste
- We are comfortable with the Motiva energy efficiency agreement
- As a private hotel, the well-being of our staff is important to us. Our values include taking good care of both customers and staff!
On the sustainable path
- 1.4.2021 We received the Green Key certificate!
- 3.3. 2022 We successfully applied for the extension of the Green Key certificate – good job hotel Alba!
- 25.3.2022 We were granted an extension of the Green Key certificate! This is a good way to continue on the path of sustainable tourism – Good luck to us!
- 6.4.2024 Hotel Alba was granted another extension of the Green Key certificate – good job!
- 31.10.2024 Hotel Alba has made an official decision to join the Sustainable Travel Finland program and is committed to promoting sustainable tourism
- Participating in the Sustainable Travel Finland path – Developing operations is important to us at Hotel Alba, and that is why we have taken the first step on the Sustainable Travel Finland path. Our goal is to be an STF hotel by 2025. Read more about Sustainable Travel Finland!
- Central Chamber of Commerce Climate Program – Hotel Alba has been selected to participate in the Chamber of Commerce Climate Program, which will start in January 2025.
